Flame Con announces Melanie Gillman as special guest

Flame Con has announced another special guest ahead of its 2019 show. In addition to Christina “Steenz” Stewart, Jen BartelKris AnkaMagdalene VisaggioTaneka StottsVita AyalaWendy Xu and more, the convention has also added Melanie Gillman to this year’s list.

Gillman is the creator of the webcomic and graphic novel As the Crow Flies, a Stonewall Award Honor Book published by Iron Circus Comics in 2017. Gillman’s new graphic novel, Stage Dreams, hits shelves in September from Graphic Universe, an imprint of Lerner Books.

Flame Con 2019 takes place Aug. 17-18 at the Sheraton in Times Square. Created by Geeks Out, it is the world’s largest queer comic-con, returning for its fifth event this year. Last year saw a record 7,000 attendees and this year is sure to be just as big.
