In case you somehow missed out on the bananas trailer released back in June for the upcoming direct-to-video The Banana Splits Movie comedy horror re-imagining of the classic variety program, just think of it as Five Nights as Freddy’s meets the Krofft Brothers. Those who attended SDCC last month had the fortune of getting an early look when the film premiered.
Fear not! The Banana Splits Movie arrives on digital August 13 and Blu-ray/DVD August 27. To satiate your hunger until then, feast your eyes on some new images and a clip.
The Banana Splits arrive at their popular show, driving along the route lined with fans awaiting to attend that day’s performance.
The Banana Splits — Bingo, Fleegle, Snorky and Drooper (voiced by renowned voice actor Eric Bauza) — line up for an update in their programming from Karl (played by Lionel Newton).
The show MUST go on!
So says Bingo, Fleegle, Snorky and, especially, Drooper when they learn that their long-running variety show has been cancelled.
In this all-new clip, stage manager Rebecca — played by Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries, A Series of Unfortunate Events, War for the Planet of the Apes) – learns the show has been cancelled from studio executive Andy, played by Daniel Fox (Generation Kill, Eye in the Sky) … just as does a lurking-in-the-shadows Drooper.
